Description
Crafted from 100% silk this square-cut scarf features the Anni Albers work E. Produced exclusively for Tate to accompany the Anni Albers exhibition, the fabric has been sourced from the extensive Albers archive by textile specialists Cloth.
Cloth was founded in 2000 as a collaboration between Christopher Farr, Matthew Bourne and Michal Silver. Drawing on their art and fashion backgrounds, Cloth very quickly focused its collection around prints and now produces new collections from contemporary designers and the archives of artists such as Anni Albers.
Born in Berlin at the turn of the century, Anni Albers (1899-1994) has made a pivotal contribution to modern art and design. As a student of the radical Bauhaus school she found a means of expression through textiles and in her later career went on to experiment with printmaking.
