Description
Crafted from a blend of modal, linen and silk this lightweight scarf has been created exclusively to accompany the Anni Albers exhibition at Tate Modern. The material has a subtle sheerness with delicate frayed edges and features the Anni Albers work Meander, sourced from her archives by the textile specialists Cloth.
Cloth was founded in 2000 as a collaboration between Christopher Farr, Matthew Bourne and Michal Silver. Drawing on their art and fashion backgrounds, Cloth very quickly focused its collection around prints and now produces new collections from contemporary designers and the archives of artists such as Anni Albers.
Born in Berlin at the turn of the century, Anni Albers (1899-1994) has made a pivotal contribution to
modern art and design. As a student of the radical Bauhaus school she found a means of expression through textiles and in her later
career went on to experiment with printmaking.
