Description
Bethan Laura Wood is particularly appreciated for her experimental designs that play with colour and material. For the Bauhaus anniversary year, the British designer created an expressive jubilee motif reminiscent of overlapping warp and weft threads in the manufacture of textiles, providing the austere shape with a flowing and, at the same time, playfully colourful motif. Wood also had in mind the expressive weaving works of Anni Albers, who studied at the Bauhaus from 1922 and later lived in one of the master houses in Dessau with her husband Josef, who was regarded as an extremely influential painter, colour theorist and art teacher.
