The Meistersiedlung in Dessau, just a few minutes from the Bauhaus, is considered the epitome of the artist colony of the 20th century. Based on plans by Walter Gropius, three cubic-plastic duplexes and a directors' house were built between 1925 and 1926 for the Bauhaus masters and their families. However, the master houses were also showcases of modern living and housekeeping. The estate experienced an eventful history, which for six decades was also marked by reconstruction, destruction and neglect and neglect. Since 2014, the area is complete again. This pocketbook tells the story of the settlement and reveals how the semi-detached houses have shaped modern life.
