Description
Designed in 1930 by Wilhelm Wagenfeld, the WNL 30 was conceived as a multi-purpose luminaire and, thanks to its minimalist design, does not need to shy away from confrontation with "modern" lamps. Wagenfeld, whose educational and professional career ranges from attending the School of Applied Arts and Bauhaus workshop to teaching at universities and leading positions in glass works and metal workshops, created a number of his most successful works as early as the end of the 1920s.
After Wagenfeld had successfully passed his journeyman's examination as a silversmith, he started at the Bauhochschule in Weimar and created around 1930 with the WNL 30m a lamp which about 40 years later, at the end of the 70s attracted the interest of the manufacturer Tecnolumen. A new edition of the copyrighted bedside or wall lamp was agreed upon, which is now the only re-edition on the market authorized by Wagenfeld and bears both the Tecnolumen and Wagenfeld marks.
