Description
The NONA chess pieces by Annabelle Klute from 2021 are characterized by an extremely minimal design intervention to impart a unique character to each piece. Inspired by the possible moves they can make on the chessboard, these pieces are handcrafted in Germany, made from oak wood, clear and black lacquered, and equipped with felt guides. The name NONA pays tribute to the first woman who achieved the title of International Grandmaster in 1978. The pieces are designed to harmonize in size and proportion with the separately available NONA chessboard made of leather straps.
