Description
WG 27 - from the 30s to the new millennium. One could reduce the long way of the WG 27 table lamp to the essentials in this or a similar way. The WG 27, designed by Wilhelm Wagenfeld around 1930 and recognizably influenced by the Bauhaus style, has defied time and is still available today. This is due in part to the manufacturer Tecnolumen, who considered the design to be timeless and therefore did not shy away from a new edition around 1979.
The WG 27, however, did not come from just anyone, but from a well-known company when it came to the industrially inspired combination of craftsmanship and inspired design. As a teacher or professor, Wagenfeld was familiar both with the environment of the fine arts and, through leading positions in industrial design, with expert glass and metal processing.
Wilhelm Wagenfeld was able to express the passion behind these activities early on in his lamps. In works like the WG 27, even decades after their designs.
